Introduction

This Base Template is a Squarespace starter template with minimal markup and styles, and is intended to be used as a starting point for your next project. It's also the default template for every Developer Site.

As our platform evolves, so will this template. ​It will be kept up to date with system changes, new features as well as best practices. 

By default, all Squarespace sites include the following 3rd party libraries:

• html5shiv.js – the defacto way to enable use of HTML5 sectioning elements in legacy Internet Explorer

• modernizr.js – feature detect HTML5 and CSS3 features

normalize.css (v2.0.1) is also included in this template as /styles/reset.css.

What's Included

This template includes a chronological collection – Blog. ​Content, structure and social blocks are the building blocks of a page and are available to all sites regardless of markup and style.

​Folders are also supported in this template and used for navigation purposes.
